Question by : Any Basic Blackjack or Roulette tips while at Casino Tables?
sometimes I can make a lot in 15 mins or so and other times I can lose even more, I know the house has the edge but there must be some basic strategies that you use to make sure you never lose too much. And my big problem is when I lose, I always go and get more money until I can win, which has also led to more loses. Anyone else have that problem or seen it with other people?
and should i just give up with those games and try poker? but I’ve only played poker online..so i’d need advice for that

I will very much try to help, but looking at what you’ve written, it’s most likely that you won’t believe me or you won’t listen.
There are 2 Truths about gambling that you need to know. You probably already see these Truths, but you don’t yet believe them, or you don’t fully understand them.
Truth #1 – Winning money at a casino is VERY easy to do! You said so yourself. You said, “sometimes I can make a lot in 15 min.” I know that you can. Anyone can.
Truth #2 – Losing money at a casino is just a little bit EASIER! This is the part that you’ve seen, but you probably still don’t fully believe or fully understand. The sooner you understand it and believe it, the better off you will be. Even at that, it might be too late to help you avoid ruining your life.
Yes, there are “basic strategies that you use to make sure you never lose too much”. The #1 strategy is to understand that gambling is meant to be for ENTERTAINMENT ONLY! I fear that you already have it in your head that you might be able to figure out a way to MAKE money by gambling. If this is true, then you are headed for some very hard times.
The #2 most important strategy is DISCIPLINE. Whether you will admit it or not, you CLEARLY don’t have this! Yes, I have also had the same problem as you. When I have lost, I have gone back and gotten more money and then lost that, too. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS! It will continue to happen again, and again, and again, until you finally run out of ways to get more money. By that time, you will be in such a giant financial hole, you won’t even know what to do with yourself. You will not be able to believe that you could have ruined your life so quickly, and you will wish that you were dead.
Should you “just give up with those games”? Yes. Especially as long as you are playing them to MAKE money, and VERY MUCH especially because of your lack of discipline!
Should you “try poker” instead? No. I promise you that you will NOT be able to MAKE money playing poker either. Being a profitable poker player requires great discipline. Again – accept it or not, but you do NOT have this! Poker also requires a great deal of study on the game. Playing on-line poker does NOT qualify as having “studied” the game.
I have been in your shoes. I know where you are headed, and if you don’t change your course soon, you will regret it more than you’ve ever regreted anything ever before. I’ll end with the same quote of yours that I began with: “Thanks for any help”. I strongly believe that you may need much more help than what can be offered by this forum. It might be time to talk with a professional, or at least family and friends, about your gambling.
