Roulette Wheel in CG
3D Studio Max has a plugin feature that allows me to simulation randomness into my animation. It animates the ball dropping onto the wheel. I animate the wheel to spin. The result is randomness as the ball collides with the wheel spinning and provides a random number. In this case, Red 23.
It’s random everytime as long as you adjust either the starting position of the ball or the speed of the wheel rotating. Reactor will take care of the rest calculating the resulting bounces. If you leave everything where it is and re-render with reactor, it will be the same.
Is this random simulation every time you render or just once like when you apply collision to you objects?
